He is the child of Mahendra Kumar Thapa and Rameshwari Thapa. Instructed from Kathmandu's Siddhartha Banasthali High School, Thapa holds a Master's Degree in Sociology. He is challenging from Kathmandu-4 in the CA Election 2013 speaking to Nepali Congress. He started his political vocation in 1990.
